Élections québécoises : Que pense la communauté anglophone?

On Radio-Canada’s Votre Retour, investigative reporter Violette Cantin examines concerns within Quebec’s English-speaking community ahead of the provincial election.

Dawson College students told her they fear restrictions on English CEGEPs and universities could dramatically change Montreal’s multicultural character and the institutions as they know them. Another major concern is the decision to send voter information in French only, with English information available through QR codes. Paulina Abraca-Cantin, executive director of Seniors Action Quebec, said many English-speaking seniors remain unilingual, struggle to understand French and may not be able to use QR codes, making the change particularly stressful. TALQ president Eva Ludvig says they sent all party leaders questions outlining the community’s concerns but have received no responses, calling the silence disappointing and disrespectful.
