News

As part of TALQ’s 30th anniversary celebration, the organization has recognized 30 individuals who have been an integral part of keeping the vitality of the English-speaking community strong. These laureates, chosen from 70+ nominations, are from every corner of the province, every generation, and every walk of life and they reflect the energy, creativity, and shared purpose that define English-speaking Quebec. Here are just a few of their stories:

Over the weekend on CJAD’s Difference Makers (Saturdays from 12:00–1:00), Sam Watts of the Welcome Hall Mission and James Hughes of the Old Brewery Mission spoke with two of TALQ’s 30for30 recipients. Chris Gobeil, a chartered professional accountant from Hudson, Quebec, has over 30 years of volunteer leadership and creative work, making him a strong advocate for the arts and his community. Jennifer Hobbs Robert, a bilingual healthcare leader, brings decades of experience in senior and end-of-life care and is dedicated to advancing compassionate, high-quality health services while supporting vulnerable populations.
