RESPONSE FROM COALITION AVENIR QUÉBEC

By email

Quebec City, September 25, 2026

Ms. Eva Ludvig
President
TALQ

Subject: Response to questions submitted in advance of the October 5, 2026 election

Dear Ms. Ludvig,

We thank you for your letter and for the questions prepared by TALQ on behalf of Quebec’s English-speaking community in the lead-up to the upcoming October election.

We recognize the important contribution of the English-speaking community to Quebec’s social, cultural, and economic vitality, and we are aware of the importance it places on the issues of governance, access to services, and education that you have raised.

Issues concerning the protection of the institutions of the English-speaking community, access to public services, and support for English-language educational institutions are matters that we take seriously, while respecting Quebec’s French character. We will therefore continue the initiatives of the Secretariat for Relations with English-speaking Quebecers, whose funding has reached historic levels, so that the English-speaking community can fully benefit from the services of the Quebec nation.

We remain open to continuing the dialogue with TALQ and the English-speaking community in the months ahead.

Yours sincerely,

Christine Fréchette Team
