Critics warn Bill 15 will mean no health care in English

Robert Bussière, the MNA representing Gatineau for the Coalition Alliance Québec (CAQ), says anyone who lives in Quebec before the government adopts Bill 15 will have their rights to health care service in English grandfathered in under the new Bill 15 regime. But he isn’t so sure regarding anyone who moves to the province after his government passes the sweeping health-care overhaul. Health care watchdogs in the Gatineau region say they aren’t convinced the CAQ will protect them. Eva Ludvig, president of the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN), accuses the government of rushing Bill 15 through and says the latest amendment – now apparently in suspension – contributes to a “very nasty pattern” displayed by the government of Premier François Legault.
